What is Supervision?
While there is no single or agreed definition of supervision, at its core, supervision is a process of professional learning and development that enables us to reflect on and develop our knowledge, skills, and competence, through agreed and regular support with another professional. (Health & Care Professions Council)
Supervision is about supporting and enhancing our practice, by enabling us to reflect on and review the interplay between our professional and personal identities. Many of us are sole traders whose livelihood depends upon our client/patient base. Burn out, self-doubt, ethical dilemmas, boundaries issues can impact on us all. This is where supervision steps in.

From a personal perspective, the connection and support of friends and colleagues has been a major factor in keeping me going over the past forty plus years. The supervision group I belong to is an important part of my professional life. We meet as a group regularly and share our personal and professional journeys; we share our challenges, enjoy our successes and support our individual and collective journey.
Based in Totnes, I offer one-to one and group sessions, both online or in person providing a supportive, safe space to look at and explore issues that may arise out of our work.
